Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) today disclosed its Chandrayaan project is threatened by India’s inflation.

Ironically, the ISRO complaint is not about any budget deficit, but about ever increasing Indian inflation interrupting the Chandrayaan’s orbit. India today has the world’s highest inflation at 23%. Ever since inflation crossed 20% mark there was a speculation among India’s scientific community about inflation blocking Chandrayaan’s orbit. The speculation became a real nightmare when the inflation reached 23%.

At a packed press conference at Sathish Dawan Space Center (SDCC), Sriharikotta, Chandrayaan project director Mylswamy Annadurai disclosed - “In this week itself twice - first at 10:20 AM on Monday then at 2:35 PM on Tuesday, we are forced to alter the orbit of Chandrayaan to avoid collision with inflation. We are forced to maintain constant vigil round the clock just to ensure the survival of the moon craft. Further, because of constantly changing orbit the photographs taken by Chandrayaan were of poor resolution and most of this week’s lunar surface photographs circulated to universities across India were rejected. We, ISRO people are becoming the laughing stock of the nation’s scientific community”. At one pint he got emotional and blasted - “Some body in union finance ministry, do some thing. Get this inflation threat out of our way”.

Speaking to news persons at New Delhi, India’s Prime minister and Finance minister Manmohan Singh said, “We understand the frustration of Chandrayaan team. We will never let you down; we will definitely bring down inflation” in an assuring tone.
